Randomly, MY FEELINGS.
I actually get fairly uncomfortable when people liken me to a real artist— I don’t feel like an artist. Even my sister acknowledges this. I am very comfortable with the term “hobbyist.” I draw once in a blue moon because I like it, and then sometimes I’ll work on something…
Holy crap, I was just scanning my dashboard but I ended up reading this whole thing because I TOO suffered through the same class! HAHAHA! That was actually the hardest AP/art class I ever took lol but we definitely had less weirdness among classmates and more hostility between teacher and students. Ms. Art Teacher offered to help us frame our stuff (put the cardboard around our paintings… whatever that was called) on her own time if we came in in the early mornings. But all of us got the time wrong and made her wait for like an hour, and she got so pissed (reasonably so) and blew up on us and flat out refused to help us with the framing ever again loool.
Anyways sorry for rambling but what I wanna say is I WISH YOU TOOK THE CLASS EARLIER SO WE COULD’VE HAD FUN TOGETHERRRR. D: Yeah that meant that you could’ve missed all those nasty and petty drama people and had fun with a group of meek Asian girls. :D Don’t think too hard on the title of “artist”, it’s only as heavy as you make it out to be. The term is too ambiguous anyway, so is the word “art.” Personally I think anyone who can produce things that others enjoy can be called an artist, i.e. painter, chef, music composer. Of course this is just my own opinion. Just wanna let you know that ya don’t have to beat yourself too hard on the term. :D
It’s late and that’s why I’m rambling so I can distract myself from real work. >_>
